The growth in the issuance of green bonds in wind power projects at Brazil

Despite the boom, the total volume of credit for the wind sector remains stagnant. However, it is expected that in 2025, the BNDES will resume a significant share as a result of the recent improvement in the conditions of the Climate Fund.
In 2024, there was R$ 189.5 billion in long-term debt contracts and issuances for infrastructure projects in Brazil, considering only the BNDES, incentive debentures, and the Constitutional Fund for Financing the Northeast (FNE). This was a 52% increase over 2023, despite the continued rise in interest rates. If we analyze debentures alone, the increase reached 106%, a real boom.
