Green hydrogen: opportunities and competitiveness in the Brazilian context

According to IRENA (2022a), clean hydrogen and its derivatives could account for 10% of greenhouse gas emission reduction efforts by 2050 to limit global warming to 1.5 °C.
Hydrogen production is expected to grow more than fivefold by 2050, with green hydrogen accounting for 48% of this volume (GECF, 2022). In this promising global market, Brazil stands out as a potential leader, mainly due to its capacity for large-scale, low-cost renewable electricity production.
